How we are governed.
IOIC is a company limited by guarantee with no share capital. Our purpose is to raise the profile and professionalism of internal communication. We are run for and by our members, which means every activity we undertake is independent and exists for the benefit of our members and the profession we serve.

Our board.
The Board of Directors has collective responsibility for running IOIC. Board members are elected by the membership and serve three-year terms. They bring a breadth of experience from across the profession and are accountable to the members who elect them.

The Board is further supported by advisory boards and a volunteer community who between them bring additional expertise, specialist oversight and a direct connection to the members and practitioners we serve.

Our volunteers.
Our volunteer community plays a vital role in bringing IOIC to life for members. Volunteers lead and support our regional and specialist networks, organising forums, discussions and events that give members a space to connect, share and explore the topics that matter most in their practice. It is through this community that much of the day-to-day life of IOIC happens, and we are grateful for the time, energy and expertise our volunteers give to the profession.
